FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions — Sea Freight to Syria

Clear answers to the most common questions about sea freight, containers, and Syrian ports.

01
Sea freight to Syria means transporting goods by ship from the loading port to a Syrian port — Latakia or Tartus — using a full container (FCL) or a shared container (LCL), with optional customs clearance, tracking, and inland delivery services as stated in the quote.
02
There is no fixed rate for all shipments. The cost depends on the origin port, destination port (Latakia or Tartus), container type and count, cargo nature, shipment date, shipping line, and destination/additional charges. A quote is issued after receiving full shipment details.
03
Transit time varies by origin port, shipping line, number of transshipment stops, and pre-departure waiting time. Total door-to-door time may also include customs clearance and inland delivery — always distinguish ocean transit from total process time.
04
Required documents vary by cargo type and country of origin. Core documents typically include: commercial invoice, packing list, shipper and consignee details, bill of lading (B/L) once issued, certificate of origin when required, and any cargo-specific certificates or permits.
05
Not necessarily. The rate may cover only ocean transport between ports, or may include additional services as specified in the quote. Always review the offer to confirm whether customs clearance, port handling, destination charges, inland delivery, insurance, and storage are included.
06
Yes. Containers and shipments can be tracked using the container number or bill of lading (B/L) number. Available updates — loading, departure, arrival, discharge — depend on carrier data. Use our shipment tracking tool when carrier data is available.
